FAQ

Common questions

Is this for IELTS Academic or General Training?

The Speaking and Listening courses and Writing Task 2 are suitable for both tests. Writing Task 1 covers Academic charts and diagrams, and has a lesson on General Training letters. The Reading course has separate lessons for Academic and General Training.

Do students have to pay?

No. All of the lessons are free for students. Teachers pay $15 per month for up to 50 student accounts.

How do I get a student account?

Student accounts are created by teachers. If your teacher uses Tips4IELTS, ask them for your login details. You can still study every lesson without an account.

How does feedback on Writing work?

If you have an account from your teacher, you can submit your writing from the lesson page. Your teacher reads it, and their feedback appears on your account page.

Can I study on my phone?

Yes. The site works on phones, tablets and computers. With an account from your teacher, your progress follows you across your devices. Without one, it stays in the browser you are using.

How long will it take to improve my band score?

It depends on your starting level and how much time you can study. Most students follow a plan of 4 to 24 weeks.
